Beer Easter Rules

Overview

The goal of Beer Easter is to locate and drink 8 beers and 1 Smirnoff Ice before any other competitor has done so. Beers are hidden throughout a search area before the beginning of the contest. Competitors must hunt and locate beers, consuming one beer at a time. After all 8 beers have been consumed the competitor must chug 1 Smirnoff Ice in “Iced” format to win the competition.

Rules

  1. Beers are wrapped to hide their label and hidden around the Beer Easter event location by the Beer Mother and any other non-competitor(s).
  2. The mix of beer should be approximately 50% Light Beer, 40% Middle to Heavy Beer, and 10% Heavy Beer / Steel Reserve. There should be enough beer for all competitors to finish the competition plus 10 beers.
  3. Beer Easter competitors should be dressed festively, and have a basket to store their beer cans in.
  4. Before the beginning of the contest, competitors move to a holding area while the Beer Mother hides the beers throughout the search area. Competitors must be moved to a search area that excludes visibility of the search area.
  5. After the Beers have been hidden, the competitors disperse to begin locating beers. Competitors should be deliberate in their search for beers and move quickly.
  6. When a beer is discovered the competitor must:
    1. Drink any beer touched. If the beer has been picked up by a competitor, it is that competitor’s beer to consume. A beer cannot be placed back down.
    2. Stand in place during the entirety of the course of consuming the beer.
    3. Following successful consumption, turn the can over to confirm the beer is empty to a nearby competitor or Beer Mother. This is done to verify the beer has been fully consumed. Failure to consume the entire beer can result in disqualification by vote of all competitors.
  7. As beers are consumed the competitor must place the empty beer can in their basket.
  8. Each competitor must consume a total of 8 beers found in their hiding places. There is no mandatory combination of beers required.
  9. Each competitor following the consumption of the required 8 beers must then consume one (12 oz) Smirnoff Ice. The Smirnoff must be consumed in “Iced” fashion – e.g. the competitor must be on one knee. The Smirnoff cannot be consumed before the required 8 beers have been consumed. The Smirnoff should be located in an accessible and known area of the search area (e.g. on the kitchen counter).
  10. Whichever competitor consumes the required 8 beers and 1 Smirnoff before all other competitors, that competitor shall be deemed the winner of Beer Easter. The winner shall be awarded with the Golden Moose trophy.
  11. Whichever competitor consumes the required 8 beers and 1 Smirnoff after all other competitors, that competitor shall be deemed the Last Place Finisher of Beer Easter and will be forced to chug 1 beer on one knee in front of the group of other competitors. A photo shall be taken to commemorate the Last Place Finisher’s beer chug.
  12. Whichever competitor consumes the most Steel Reserve beers in the process of consuming the required 8 total beers, that competitor shall be deemed the Brother of Steel award winner. The Brother of Steel winner shall be hoisted above the shoulders of the group of competitors. A photo shall be taken to commemorate the Brother of Steel award.
  13. The Golden Moose Trophy can be any Moose object so long as it is gold.
  14. The Brother of Steel award can be any patriotic object so as its meaning is worthy of the Brother of Steel title.

Disqualification

  1. If a competitor throws up their first beer, they may consume a penalty beer to continue in the contest. This means following throwing up, the competitor must consume 9 beers and 1 Smirnoff.
  2. If a competitor throws up after their first beer, that competitor is disqualified.
  3. If a competitor picks up a beer and places it back down, that competitor is disqualified.
  4. If a competitor pours out ANY amount of the beer during its consumption, that competitor is disqualified.
